Abstract:
This is a report describing petrological samples from the submarine Tonga Arc collected during the TELVE and NoToVE Cruises in 2003-2004 aboard the RV Southern Surveyor. This report derives from the original cruise report authored by Richard Arculus, and includes a detailed accounting of each dredge station (time and location on and off the bottom), and a description of each sample taken for petrological study. Geochemical data, including the primary dataset for volatile species in Tonga arc melt inclusions, are reported for a subset of these samples in Lauren Cooper's PhD Thesis (Boston University, 2009). This subset of samples are also registered in SESAR.
