Abstract:
The surface speciation of Fe (2–10 nm) in dust samples was determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, Thermo Fisher Scientific K-Alpha+). Samples are from a BSNE dust collector installed in Tierra del Fuego (53.79ºS, 67.75ºW). The purpose of these measurements is to gauge bioavailability of Fe for ocean phytoplankton.
