Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) concentration in particulate matter (PM) from Tyumen City, Russia

This dataset contain the results of our study of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) deposited with the particulate matter (PM) of snow in the city of Tyumen (Russia) and in nearby background areas. Tyumen is one of the most rapidly developing cities in Siberia due to oil and gas extraction in the north of the Tyumen Region. The aim of the study was to evaluate the concentrations of PAHs in the PM phase of snow within the city of Tyumen and to identify their sources and any adverse environmental effects. 14 U.S. Environmental Protection Agency priority-listed PAHs were detected in snow solid phase samples: naphthalene (NaP), fluorene (Flu), phenanthrene (Phe), anthracene (Ant), fluoranthene (Flt), pyrene (Pyr), benzo(a)anthracene (BaA), chrysene (Chr), benzo(b)fluoranthene (BbF), benzo(k)fluoranthene (BkF), benzo(a)pyrene (BaP), dibenzo(a,h)anthracene (DahA), benzo(ghi)perylene (BghiP), indeno[1,2,3-cd]pyrene (IcdP)
