Abstract:
In situ (laser ablation inductively couple plasma mass spectrometry and electron probe microanalysis) measurements of heat producing elements concentrations in cratonic mantle minerals from a variety of cratonic peridotites. This data can be used to reconstruct bulk-rock heat producing elements concentrations in cratonic peridotites for use in constructing cratonic geotherms. It is recommended to use the summarized version of HPE concentrations in mantle minerals from the accompanying publication. The publication additionally provides estimates for heat generation in cratonic peridotites based on model mantle lithologies.
