Abstract:
The dataset reflects differences in dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations and dissolved organic matter (DOM) molecular composition within Upper Mississippi River Basin (UMRB) low order streams and rivers draining one of three dominant landcovers (forest, agriculture, and urban) over four different seasons (winter, spring, summer, and fall). The purpose of this study was to determine whether landcover had an effect on DOC concentration and DOM composition in a temperate watershed. DOC concentration was measured on a Shimadzu TOC-L CPH and DOM composition was determined using Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS).
