Major and trace element analyses of hawaiites/basanites and associated mineral phases from the Cima Volcanic Field, California and adjacent deposit at Dish Hill
Abstract:
This dataset presents whole-rock major- and trace-element analyses of hawaiites and basanites from the Cima Volcanic Field, California and adjacent deposit at Dish Hill, using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. This dataset also includes electron microprobe analyses of associated mineral phases including olivine, clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and Fe-Ti oxides (ilmenite and titanomagnetite). Whole-rock and mineral compositions are used to place constraints on temperature, melt H2O content, and fO2 using a variety of crystal-melt thermometers, hygrometers, and oxybarometers.
