Abstract:
A multi-collector laser ablation ICP-MS method was used to measure Sr isotopes in plagioclase. A split-stream method was employed to measure trace elements on the same spots. The goal was to evaluate whether Samoan lavas with extreme Sr radiogenic isotopic compositions host plagioclase with even more extreme compositions. The data show even more extreme radiogenic Sr isotopic compositions in extreme Samoan EM2 lavas than identified in the whole rock lavas.
