Abstract:
The study area is the hydrogeological basin of Palermo Mountains. Geochemical methods have been an useful tools for understanding processes altering the quality of groundwaters during their flow, such as the interactions between host rocks and groundwater and pollution coming from human activities. Records include: chemical-physical parameteres, major elements, minor elements, trace elements and stable isotopic composition of water collected from 14 springs, 24 wells and 7 drainage galleries during 2004-2005. This study is part of the Water Protection Plan of the Sicilian Regional Government.
