Abstract:
Major and trace element geochemistry of Eocene-Oligocene marine sediment core samples collected at Ocean Drilling Program Site 696 via ICP-MS and ICP-OES. Muds and sandy muds were analyzed to assess provenance, paleoweathering, paleoredox and paleoproductivity using elemental ratios. The objective was to assess the impact of ice growth on the paleoceanography of the Weddell Sea.
