Dataset on major and trace element concentrations in olivine from the 1963-65 Irazú eruption, Costa Rica
Abstract:
We present core-to-rim LA-ICPMS data on olivine from the 1963-65 eruption of Irazú volcano, Costa Rica. Olivine traverses from three stratigraphically constrained samples collected in the modern crater in 2010 by P. Ruprecht. They were used in the reconnaissance figures of Ruprecht and Plank (2013; doi: 10.1038/nature12342) and published here to provide the complete data set of the previously reported data. The data was collected according to the description in Ruprecht and Plank (2013) and additional metadata regarding screening for mixed analyses of olivine and other phases (oxides and silicates) is provided.
