U-Pb, 40Ar/39Ar, Fission Track and (U-Th)/He Thermochronology Ages of Ice Rafted Dropstones deposited offshore Wilkes Subglacial Basin
Abstract:
10 ice rafted dropstones deposited offshore Wilkes Subglacial Basin (East Antarctica) were dates with varying combinations of U-Pb zircon and apatite, 40Ar/39Ar hornblende, biotite, and muscovite, apatite fission track and (U-Th)/He zircon and apatite. Dropstones were recovered during IODP cruise 318 in 2010 from sites 1360A, 1358B, and 1356A. Depositional ages of the dropstones range from Oligocene to Pleistocene.
