Pore water chemical composition and sediment mineral composition in different seepage intensities of Haima Cold Spring

Abstract:
Haima Cold Seep is located in the northern basin of the South China Sea and is an active cold seep. We selected four areas with different seepage intensities to collect gravity column samples at different intervals and extracted pore water to test the metal ions and anions. Sediment samples were also collected for power X-ray diffraction testing. Different methane seepage intensities affect the geochemical-biological processes in the sediments, which in turn lead to different characteristic pore fluid profiles and sediment mineral compositions
