Abstract:
A hydrothermal chimney wall has been prepared into a thick section to evaluate the evolution of copper isotope accross the wall (from the inside where the wall is in contact with a hot hydrothermal fluid), to the outside (where the wall is in contact with cold seawater). On the thick section, powders have been collected using microdrilling along 2 transects (A and B). The powders and the hydrothermal fluid venting through this chimney have been analyzed for element concentrations and copper isotope ratios.
