Abstract:
This dataset contains the results of Zr-in-rutile thermometry (ZiR) and quartz-inclusion-in-garnet barometry (QuiG) on a suite of blueschist and eclogite samples from the Cyclades Blueschist Unit (CBU) on the island of Syros, Greece. Crystals of rutile and quartz located as inclusions within garnet were analyzed with the goal of constraining the minimum pressure and temperature conditions of garnet formation. The pressure and temperature constraints on garnet formation were then used to infer the pressure and temperature trajectory of the subduction geotherm during metamorphism of the Cyclades Blueschist Unit.
