Abstract:
We compile previously published bulk compositions for basaltic rocks. We include mid-ocean ridge segment and back arc basin segment averages and arc-front volcano averages when segments/volcanoes have 3 or more individual basalt samples with 5 < MgO < 12 and Dy/Yb <= 1.8. The data are used to calculate a 'vanadium proxy' used to constrain relative oxygen fugacity of the mantle source region of these magmas.
