Abstract:
Isla Isabel is a small volcanic island off the western coast of Mexico that possesses HIMU signatures of undetermined origin. This dataset comprises new Sr-Nd-Hf-Pb isotopic compositions used to constrain the origin of Isla Isabel's unique geochemical signature. The data demonstrate strong commonality with the Nd-Hf isotopic compositions HIMU-type oceanic basalts, but the overall geochemical composition of Isla Isabel lavas points toward mantle metasomatism as the origin of its unique isotopic signature.
