Abstract:
Major and trace elements composition of apatite were measured on two samples from the Archibarca pluton from the Ordovician Famatinian arc, Puna Plateau, Argentina. Major elements were determined on thin sections by electron microprobe TrACEES at Melbourne University and trace elements by LA-ICP-MS at CODES, University of Tasmania. Analyzed apatite comes from a well-preserved and hybrid diorite, and is compared between them to constrain the effect of mingling and volatiles on apatite composition. The file entitled “Apatite composition majors and traces Famatinan arc- Puna - Argentina” contains a number of sheets listing the major element composition of 21 analyses and the trace element composition of 39 analyses, and measured standards during experiments.
