Abstract:
We collected two fault perpendicular transects from a classic San Andreas Fault piercing point, the Triassic megapophyritic monzogranite of Liebre Mountain and Mill Creek. We acquired zircon and apatite U-Pb geochronology, zircon and apatite (U-Th)/He and apatite fission-track thermochronology data, and trace/rare earth element geochemical data to understand how cooling varies within the San Andreas Fault restraining bend.
