Abstract:
This dataset includes detailed petrographic observations and major- and trace-element analyses of eclogite and pyroxenite xenoliths from the Balmoral kimberlite, Kimberley area, Kaapvaal craton. The dataset captures two distinct metasomatic events: a kimberlite-like melt affecting pyroxenites and an extreme Y-HREE enrichment event in deep lithospheric eclogites. These data were obtained using EMPA and ICP-MS and are valuable for understanding subduction processes and mantle metasomatism.
