Abstract:
This dataset is associated with a recent submission by Lin, K.-Y. to Journal of Petrology entitled "The Taitao ophiolite: Snapshot of nascent oceanic mantle emplaced via ridge-trench collision". The dataset contains bulk-rock major element data obtained via X-ray Fluorescence at the University of Tokyo. The dataset also contains in situ mineral major and trace element data of harzburgites, plagioclase harzburgites, clinopyroxenites, and a gabbro from the Taitao Ophiolite. Major elements on constituting minerals, including olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, and spinel were obtained via electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) at the University of Tokyo. Trace elements of existing olivine, orthopyroxene, and clinopyroxene in these rocks are analyzed by laser ablation inductively coupled plasma (LA-ICPMS) at the University of Delaware.
