Petrogenesis of coexisting agpaitic and potassic syenites in Late Triassic Yangyuan Alkaline Complex, North China
Abstract:
This dataset includes U-Pb data, whole rock and mineral compositions of syenites from Yangyuan Alkaline Complex, North China. The Yangyuan complex comprises two major rock series, aegirine nepheline syenite and alkali feldspar syenite, which are geochemically agpaitic and potassic, respectively. The agpaitic rocks are rare occurrences worldwide. The Yangyuan Alkaline Complex provides a special example for the alkaline magma evolved from agpaitic to silicon saturated potassic. The magmatic and hydrothermal zircons yield the U-Pb ages of 223-221 Ma, conducted by SIMS, indicate Late Triassic magmatism and post-magmatic hydrothermal alteration. The whole rock compositions are analyzed by XRF and ICP-MS, and Sr-Nd-Zn isotopes by MC-ICP-MS. Zircon in-situ Hf-O isotopes are analyzed by LA-ICP-MS and SIMS, respectively. Clinopyroxene, feldspar, nepheline, and phlogopite compositions are from EPMA.
