Os isotopic compositions of mantle-plume related basalts

Abstract:
The mantle sources of mantle plumes represent the most geochemically diverse geological domains on Earth and contain important information about Earth's origins and long-term evolution. The siderophile Re-Os isotopic system is an important complement to commonly-measured lithophile isotopic systems (Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, U/Th-Pb) because it offers a persepective on the long-term behavior of sulfides and metals in Earth's mantle. This dataset presents Os isotopic data for well-characterized ocean island basalts and continental flood basalts related to long-lived mantle plumes. It serves as a basis for continued investigation of these plume systems to understand their unique perspectives on Earth's deep mantle.
