Abstract:
This dataset contains new major (EPMA), trace (LA-ICP-MS), and volatile (NanoSIMS) element data for 13 Oʻahu rejuvenated olivine-hosted melt inclusions from the Honolulu Volcanic Series on Oʻahu, as well as host olivine major and minor elemental compositions. This dataset also contains new major and trace element data for the tephra glass (i.e., glass matrix) that contains the host olivines and their melt inclusions. This tephra sample, RT-03, was collected from Roundtop Cone along the Tantalus Rift on Oʻahu. The olivines that contain these Oʻahu rejuvenated melt inclusions have forsterite contents of 80–83. What distinguishes these Oʻahu rejuvenated melt inclusions is that they are foidites with high alkali contents and low H2O/Ce ratios (12–63). These Oʻahu rejuvenated melt inclusions also have particularly high (La/Sm)N values (2.6–3.5), consistent with the incompatible trace element enrichment of melts from the rejuvenated stage at the Hawaiian hotspot.
