Abstract:
Whole rock samples from the Rattlesnake Hills, Wyoming, USA were analyzed for major and trace element compositions and Sr and Nd isotopic compositions. These analyses support interpretation of the petrogenesis of the Rattlesnake Hills Alkaline Complex, composed of 46 small igneous centers. Nepheline-normative rock types include tephriphonolite, trachyandesite, and phonolite. Quartz-normative rock types include trachyte and rhyolite. Sparse carbonatite dikes are also present.
