Field XRF data on heavy metal deposition of marsh habitats from the Moss Landing Vistra Storage Battery Facility Fire
Abstract:
The datasets include measurements done on marsh soils using portable hand-held X-ray fluorescence (FpXRF). Data collection was done to study the effects on marsh habitats of the Moss Landing Vistra Storage Battery Facility Fire that occurred between January 16-18, 2025. Three datasets are included: 1) 2023 baseline that was collected at Hester Marsh before the fire (Pre-fire); 2) soil data that were collected at both Hester Marsh and surrounding watershed within 2 week after the fire (Post-fire#1); and 3) another XRF dataset collected about one month after the fire after major rain events in February (Post-fire#2)
