Whole rock elemental and isotopic data for volcanic rocks from the Carran Los Venados volcanic field, Southern Chile
Abstract:
This dataset contains sample information such as rock types and locations for volcanic rocks (lavas, scoria and tephra) collected in 2015 from the Carran Los Venados volcanic field in Southern Chile. All samples were analysed for elemental bulk rock concentrations, and a subset were analysed for Sr-Nd-Pb and U-Th (U-series) isotopes. Mineral elemental data for olivine, plagioclase and oxides are also presented. These data were consolidated to understand the petrogenesis and magmatic evolution of this volcanic field from its underlying Basal Lavas to the historic eruptions (1955 to 1979 C.E).
