Geochemistry of volcanic and plutonic rocks from the Kohistan Arc, Northern Pakistan, Western Himalayas
Abstract:
This dataset includes whole-rock major and trace element and Nd and Sr radiogenic isotope data from the volcanic and plutonic rocks of the Kohistan Arc, Northern Pakistan, Western Himalayas. The data were obtained from rocks sampled from the eastern Kohistan Batholith (Cretaceous-Eocene) and the Jurassic Hunza and Cretaceous Ghizar Formations of the Chalt Group. Major and trace elements were measured at the GeoZentrum Nordbayern by XRF and ICP-MS, respectively. The Nd and Sr isotope compositions were measured by MC-ICP-MS at the GZN. The dataset was used to constrain the growth and geochemical evolution of the Kohistan Arc crust.
