Abstract:
Amphibole major element chemistry from the Archibarca, Sierra de Macon, and Taca Taca plutons from the Ordovician Famatinian arc, Puna Plateau, Argentina. Chemical analyses were performed on thin sections by electron microprobe at the TrACEES platform at Melbourne University. Samples were analyzed for major elements to constrain their crystallization pressure and temperature, based on proven thermobarometers. Amphiboles from all samples are Mg-hornblende that record conditions between 650 to 790 °C and 77 to 290 MPa.
