Abstract:
The dataset includes in-situ major element chemical analyses realized at the Electron Probe Micro-Analyzer (EPMA) at the Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra “Ardito Desio”, University of Milano, on olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, and spinel of spinel harzburgite samples. Samples were collected in the uppermost lithospheric mantle portion exposed along the Wadi Zeeb and Wadi Nassif rivers in the Wadi Taiyn massif (south of the Oman ophiolite). The purpose of the dataset is to document the chemical composition and possible chemical changes of the main mineral phases componing the refractory mantle harzburgites sampled at various depths in the mantle and involved within the spinel stability field by a reactive porous melt flow event with different degrees of melt-rock interaction.
