Geochemical and isotopic data for intraplate basalts from southern Vietnam
Abstract:
Whole rock samples from southern Vietnam were analyzed for major and trace element compositions and Sr, Nd, Mg, and Fe isotopic compositions. These analyses support interpretation of the petrogenesis of southern Vietnam. The basalt samples can be classified into alkaline group and tholeiitic group. Basalts from two different groups show significant diversity in terms of Major elements and Mg and Fe isotopes.
