Abstract:
This dataset includes whole-rock major and trace element geochemical data from the the Sudbury impact melt sheet (Main Mass and Offset Dikes), as well as from selected footwall rock lithologies. New data for the Main Mass (n=840) come from 6 new transects across the less-altered northern half of the structure, New Offset Dike samples (n=4) come from the well-preserved, aphanitic margins of the Tril Offset Dike to the west. New footwall rock data (n=34) are mainly focused on the Levack Gneiss Complex and Cartier Granite, which are part of the Archean Superior Province and border the Sudbury Impact Structure to the north. The dataset furthermore includes a literature compilation (n=919) of representative footwall rock data surrounding the Sudbury Impact Structure.
