Abstract:
We analyzed pore-water sulfate and Fe(II), headspace methane and its δ¹³C, bulk organic carbon and its δ¹³C, grain-size distributions, major elements (Fe, Al, Ti, Ca), reactive Fe, TOC, iron-bound organic carbon (Fe-OC), and Fe speciation in sediments retrieved from the Haima cold seep in the northern South China Sea to quantify the impact of anaerobic oxidation of methane (AOM) on Fe-OC.
