Geochemical, geochronological and mineral chemistry dataset for leucogranites from the Nyalam segment of the South Tibetan Detachment System, central Himalaya
Abstract:
This dataset presents whole-rock geochemical, monazite U–(Th)–Pb geochronological and Sm–Nd isotopic, and mineral chemistry for leucogranites from the Nyalam segment of the South Tibetan Detachment System, central Himalaya. Samples were collected along a ~300 m vertical transect beneath the detachment surface. Whole-rock major and trace elements were analyzed by XRF and ICP–MS, fluorine contents by a fluoride ion-selective electrode method, monazite ages and isotopic compositions by in situ laser ablation techniques, and mineral compositions by electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). These data document systematic variations in bulk-rock composition, mineral chemistry, and deformation microstructures within deformed leucogranites and provide a reference dataset for studies of magma differentiation, and tectono-magmatic processes in orogenic settings.
