In situ analysis, major and trace-element geochemistry for the Jiaodong mafic intrusions
Abstract:
This dataset presents mineral major-element compositions and whole-rock major and trace element geochemical data for mantle-derived intrusions from the Jiaodong Peninsula, eastern China (36.95–37.56°N, 120.12–122.47°E). Mineral data comprise 137 electron probe microanalysis (EMPA) spot analyses of clinopyroxene, biotite, and amphibole, reporting major oxides in wt.%. Whole-rock data include 25 samples analyzed for major oxides by X-ray fluorescence (XRF), loss on ignition (LOI) by ignition (IGN), and a comprehensive suite of trace elements measured primarily by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP–MS), with Ag determined by inductively coupled plasma–optical emission spectrometry (ICP–OES), S by carbon–sulfur analysis (CSA), and Au by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF-AAS). The dataset provides geochemical constraints for investigating magmatic differentiation processes in mantle-derived intrusions of the Jiaodong Peninsula.
