Major, trace element and isotope geochemistry of lamproites from the West Kimberley Province of Western Australia
Abstract:
This datasets comprises 70 new major (XRF) and trace element analyses (ICP-MS and INAA) and 20 Sr-Nd-Hf-Pb isotopic analyses of olivine- and leucite lamproites from the Miocene West Kimberley lamproite province of northern Western Australia. Major and trace elements were analyzed at the Department of Geology, Australian National University and Geoscience Australia laboratories in Canberra, Australia. REE and additional trace elements were determined by INAA using Ortec Ge detectors and electronics following irradiation at the Lucas Heights reactor. The Sr-Nd-Hf-Pb isotope analyses were undertaken at the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences, University of Alberta, Canada. Sr ratios were measured by Triton Plus TIMS. Nd and Sm isotope ratios were analysed by Neptune Plus multi–collector ICPMS. Hf isotope were measured on a Thermo Neptune Plus MC-ICPMS. Pb isotope determinations were measured on a Thermo Triton Plus TIMS in static collection mode.
