Lava whole-rock and olivine chemistry for the 1868 A.D. lower Southwest Rift Zone eruption of Mauna Loa (Island of Hawai‘i)
Abstract:
This dataset includes sample metadata, image analysis, whole rock WD-XRF, electron backscatter diffraction, and electron probe microanalytical data for lava and olivine crystals from the 1868 A.D. lower Southwest Rift Zone eruption of Mauna Loa (Island of Hawai‘i). Olivine data include core-to-rim traverses and diffusion models with resulting calculated timescales.
