Representative in-situ dating of metasomatic monazites from the studied rock using EPMA and LA-ICP-MS analyses
Abstract:
The examined highly metasomatized rock contains monazite mocro-veinlets. Laser ablation ICPMS U-Pb dating of bright and dark domains resulted in a wide spread of apparent U-Pb ages, defining a discordia with a precise upper intercept and the lower intercept ages, providing a well-constrained age of the documented extreme metasomatic event and rare-earth element-thorium mobility.
