Abstract:
The 1924 explosive eruption of Kīlauea, Island of Hawai‘i, has been a classic example of phreatic activity, but new investigations focused on the preserved tephra deposits at Kīlauea’s summit provide additional insights on the origins of this eruption. This dataset includes field, physical volcanological, and geochemical data on the diverse juvenile components of the 1924 explosive eruption deposits.
