Abstract:
These Fe isotopic data were acquired in solution mode using a Nu Sapphire MC-ICP-MS at IPGP (France), with a mix of He-H2 in the collision/reaction cell (CRC). Analyses were performed in both wet plasma and dry plasma modes for extensive comparison. We measured a series of geological (BHVO-2, BIR-1, BCR-2, SDC-1, AGV-2, W-2, JP-1, GSP-2, COQ-1) and biological (ERM-BB184, ERM-BB185, ERM-BB186 and ERM-DB001) reference materials. The accuracy and precision of d56Fe obtained in this study for solutions with Fe concentrations down to approximately 10 ppb Fe are comparable to those obtained using conventional MC-ICP-MS (no CRC), but using higher Fe concentrations, in the ppm range.
