Whole-rock geochemistry, mineral chemistry, zircon U–Pb geochronology, and Lu–Hf isotope data for the Hwangnyeong orbicular gabbro, SE Korea
Abstract:
This dataset contains whole-rock major- and trace-element compositions, mineral chemistry, zircon U–Pb geochronological data, and zircon Lu–Hf isotope data for orbicular gabbro from Hwangnyeong Mountain, Busan, southeastern Korea. The analyzed materials comprise host gabbro, multi-shelled orbicules, proto-orbicules, and mingled magma batches, with mineral-chemical analyses including plagioclase, olivine, clinopyroxene, and amphibole. The dataset documents the compositional and temporal relationships among these lithological and mineralogical components. These data were generated to investigate the petrogenesis of the Hwangnyeong orbicular gabbro and evaluate the roles of magma recharge, melt–mush interaction, and crystallization in orbicule formation.
