Modeled chemical and isotopic composition of recycled oceanic crust and depleted MORB mantle (DMM) to evaluate uncertainty in calculated recycling ages of oceanic crusts
Abstract:
This dataset provides geochemical and isotopic data used to evaluate the uncertainty in calculated recycling ages of oceanic crust. Specifically, it includes: (1) estimated chemical compositions of recycled oceanic crust based on the average MORB composition from Gale et al. (2013) and the subduction modification model proposed by Shimoda and Kogiso (2019), and (2) chemical and isotopic compositions of U-DMM modeled with different ages and degrees of partial melting. To calculate the recycling ages of oceanic crust, this repository also includes the average 143Nd/144Nd, 206Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 208Pb/204Pb ratios of individual hotspots. This dataset, in conjunction with previously published data (Shimoda and Kogiso, 2025; https://doi.org/10.60520/IEDA/114247), supports the crustal recycling age estimations presented in our revised manuscript submitted to Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, titled “PREMA-HIMU: a Code for Deciphering the Recycling Ages of Oceanic Crusts”.
