10Be erosion rate data from steep catchments in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains and McElvoy Canyon, CA
Abstract:
This dataset consists of 41 new in situ detrital quartz 10Be erosion rates from sands collected at channel outlets in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains and McElvoy Canyon, California, USA. These samples were collected and analyzed as part of Jonathan et al. (in prep) and are sourced from nested catchments in steep landscapes with a mixed surface cover of both soil-mantled and bare-bedrock patches. The dataset includes raw 10Be data, blank and standard corrected values, and calculated erosion rates along with sample locations and data on catchment size, climate, and morphology.
