Abstract:
This dataset contains biogeochemical measurements collected across depth profiles of three pristine ombrotrophic peat bogs in Värmland , central Sweden, in June 2024. Measurements include porewater and dissolved-gas chemistry from Björsmossen, Norra Romyren and Lungsmossen, with samples collected across spatial profiles from 10 to 60 cm depth. The dataset includes methane and carbon dioxide concentrations, major anions, total iron and manganese, and organic acid concentrations measured using gas chromatography, ion chromatography, ICP-MS and HPLC. These data characterize peatland biogeochemistry across sites and depths and provide environmental context for microbial and biogeochemical processes investigated in Fiorito et al. (2026).
